Yokogawa Bridge Corporation (Head office: Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture; CEO: Nakamura Yuzuru) has collaborated with Gakken Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nanjo Tatsuya; hereinafter referred to as Gakken) to produce "The Secrets of Bridges," the 227th volume of the "Gakken Manga Easy to Understand Series." Through Gakken, 20,000 copies of this book have been donated to all elementary schools and special needs schools nationwide, and 4,000 copies have been donated to public libraries and children's centers nationwide.
The "Gakken Manga Easy to Understand Series" is an educational manga series for elementary school students that has been popular for over 20 years as the "Secret Series." It introduces various themes surrounding children, such as science, society, industry, and technology, in an easy-to-understand manner using fun manga, and is widely used in educational settings.
The newly released book, "The Secrets of Bridges," is a story about the protagonist, a boy and his childhood friend, who learn about the role bridges play in infrastructure that is essential to our lives, and the technology and passion that goes into their Design, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance, as they go through the process of building a bridge.
